MnDOT seeks public comment on the Environmental Assessment Worksheet for Hwy 97 in Forest Lake
Roseville, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking public review and comment on the Highway 97 Environmental Assessment Worksheet for proposed road improvements in Forest Lake. The 30-day public comment period opens today, Sept. 10 and closes on Friday, Oct. 11.
MnDOT plans to reconstruct pavement on Highway 97 between Interstate 35 and Highway 61. The project work includes the construction of a single-lane roundabout at Fenway Ave N, a multiuse trail for pedestrians/bicyclists, dedicated right and left turn lanes at key intersections, intersection lighting, a raised median, accessibility, and drainage improvements. Construction is planned for Spring 2025 through Fall 2026.
Copies of the EAW, which documents the purpose and need of the project along with the potential environmental impacts, are available for public viewing during business hours at the following locations:
