Clearwater community invited to public events May 9 for Hwy 24 improvements

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Clearwater invite the traveling public, area residents and businesses to attend public meetings on Thursday, May 9. Attendees will learn more about a Highway 24 project scheduled for 2026 and be able to provide feedback on future improvements.

Two meetings will be held at Lions Park Pavilion, 1100 Co. Rd. 75, in Clearwater:

  • Business meeting: 1–2:30 p.m.
  • Public meeting: 4–6 p.m.

MnDOT staff will provide design ideas and improvements for Highway 24 between Wright County Road 7 and the Mississippi River bridge. There will be no formal presentation; attendees are encouraged to come and go at their leisure.

In 2026, MnDOT will reconstruct the Highway 24 bridge over I-94 between 179th Street and Ash Street in Clearwater, Wright County. Although funding only allows for the reconstruction of the Highway 24 interchange, project staff are evaluating the entire corridor between County Road 7 and the Mississippi River bridge for future designs.

For more information, visit talk.dot.state.mn.us/hwy-24-clearwater or contact Stephanie Castellanos, public engagement coordinator, at [email protected] or 218-828-5822. After May 9, a pre-recorded presentation will be available online.

MnDOT encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, a foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at [email protected]  or call 651-366-4720.
