MnDOT to host two public open houses for Highway 4 Sherburn to St. James project
MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is holding two construction open houses for a project on Highway 4 from Sherburn to St. James in preparation of construction expected to begin in late April, weather permitting. The public is invited to attend in Trimont on Tuesday, April 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Triumph Hall, 546 Main Street E, or in Sherburn on Thursday, April 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Senior Dining Center, 21 East 1st Street.
Staff from MnDOT and the contractor will be available to provide more information about the project and answer questions. There is no formal presentation planned, and attendees are welcome to arrive anytime.
The Highway 4 project between Sherburn and St. James includes roadway, bridge, and drainage improvements. In addition to resurfacing approximately 25 miles of roadway, the bridge over Cedar Run will be replaced and multiple bridges will be repaired. Pedestrian accommodations in the cities of Sherburn and Trimont will also be improved.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in late April and continue until late August, weather permitting. Traffic will be detoured during construction. Visit the project website for detour information.
OMG Midwest was awarded the project with a bid of $20,724,636.58.
