Highway 25 closes, detours in south Buffalo on April 1
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Those who travel on Highway 25 (South Lake Boulevard) in south Buffalo, Wright County, will encounter the road closed and detoured as work resumes Monday, April 1, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The closure is necessary to allow the City of Buffalo to complete the south end of the Highway 25 (South Lake Boulevard) project that began in July 2023 from First Street S to the curve north of Settlers Parkway. The project includes city utilities, pedestrian sidewalks and a community commons area along Buffalo Lake.
April 1 through mid-June:
- Highway 25 will close between Wright County Road 12 (Montrose Boulevard) and Settlers Parkway.
- Through traffic to detour along County Road 12 (Montrose Boulevard) at Buffalo to Highway 12 at Montrose.
- Local traffic in Buffalo to use Settlers Parkway, Highway 55 and Second Street S.
- Download a detour map: mndot.gov/d3/buffalo.
Access will be maintained for those who live, work or visit; however, expect changes. Any remaining work after mid-June will be done under traffic.
When complete in late summer, the project will provide a smoother road surface, updated drainage and improved safety for travelers.
Any questions or concerns may be directed to City of Buffalo Engineer Justin Kannas at [email protected].
Also in summer 2024, Wright County will construct a roundabout at Highway 25 and County Road 83/35th Street NE in Buffalo. Highway 25 will close at the intersection and detour along County Road 37, County Road 12 and Highway 55. Download a detour map: mndot.gov/d3/buffalo.
